24-year-old pianist Daniel Hsu lives at the intersection of music and technology. A prodigious talent, he started taking piano at the age of 6 and performed with a symphony just two years later in his native California. He’s since won some of classical music’s top international prizes and performs regularly around the world. He also developed genius programming skills early on, having contributed to the creation of the app that won the 2015 Apple Design Award. Just up the road in Fort Worth, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition takes place this June; come hear Daniel—the first Cliburn winner to play SXSW—for a preview of extreme virtuosity, plus a special collaboration with Fort Worth artists Lou Charle$ and Averi Burk.
